The memorial in Wólka Radzymińska commemorates the four airmen of a Polish “Łoś” bomber who were killed on 7 September 1939. The aircraft took off from the field airfield in Poniatów to attack German armoured columns near Łódź and Piotrków. Over Wólka Radzymińska it was attacked by German fighters and crashed.

The crash killed observer Second Lieutenant Władysław Kołdej, Corporal Konrad Pysiewicz, Second Lieutenant Wacław Cierpiłowski and Corporal Kazimierz Wielgoszewski. Their remains were buried in a shared plot in the cemetery in Radzymin.

The memorial, unveiled in 2013, takes the form of a granite slab with a full-size replica of the “Łoś” propeller and a plaque bearing the names of the fallen. It was created after the wreckage of the aircraft was found in 2011. The site lies on the Fighting Poland tourist trail and can be reached on foot or by bike.
