Wola Aleksandra
Wola Aleksandra is a small village in the western part of Nieporęt Municipality, between Stanisławów Drugi, Kąty Węgierskie and Legionowo. At the end of the 19th century it comprised five homesteads and 94 morgens of land, and even in the interwar period its buildings were widely scattered. Over time it developed mainly along ul. Wolska.
The history of human presence here, however, is much older. Seven archaeological sites contain traces of settlement from the Stone Age, the Neolithic, the Bronze Age, the Hallstatt period and the period of Roman influence.
The most visible local landmark is an iron cross erected in 1997 at the junction of ul. Gajowa and ul. Wolska. In its lower part there is a glazed shrine with an image of Our Lady of Częstochowa. Wola Aleksandra does not have a large group of historic monuments, but it has kept the peaceful character of a small settlement and traces of a much older history hidden in its archaeological sites.
