Rynia (600th Anniversary of the Village)
Rynia is a small village in Nieporęt Municipality, on the shore of the Zegrze Reservoir. It is a place where it is easy to slow down and relax surrounded by water, forest and sails.
The Zegrze Reservoir was created in the 1960s by impounding the waters of the Narew. At first it served economic purposes as a retention reservoir and water source, but it quickly became a popular holiday destination for people from Warsaw and the surrounding area. Holiday resorts, marinas and sailing clubs grew up around the reservoir.
Today Rynia attracts lovers of active leisure. You can relax by the water, go for a walk, swim, sail or simply admire the view of the reservoir, which changes with every time of day – from the calm morning, through the bustling afternoon full of sailing boats and kayaks, to the evening reflections of the setting sun.
Rynia is an ideal stop for cyclists. The blue Liwiec Route runs through the village, from Nieporęt via Białobrzegi and Rynia to the bridge over the Rządza River. Much of it follows the top of the embankment along the reservoir, offering close contact with the water and scenic views.
