Łęgi Czarnej Strugi Nature Reserve
The “Łęgi Czarnej Strugi” reserve protects a fragment of riparian forest – a moist, fertile river valley forest whose character depends on the groundwater level and periodic flooding. The stand here is over 80 years old and includes alders, ashes and elms.
In spring the reserve stands out for its flowering ground-cover plants, which form the so-called spring aspect. It is also a refuge for birds and home to wild boar, roe deer and elk.
Falling groundwater levels and a lack of flooding may threaten this valuable ecosystem. The reserve is not open to visitors, so please stay outside its boundaries and enjoy nature without disturbing its peace.
