Nieporęt Railway Station
Nieporęt railway station is a convenient gateway for exploring the municipality, picturesquely set by the Żerań Canal and the Zegrze Reservoir. Today, Warsaw Fast Urban Railway (SKM) trains stop here, connecting Warsaw with the reservoir area.
The history of the railway in Nieporęt goes back to 1916, when a military narrow-gauge railway linking Zegrze, Nieporęt, Struga and Wawer was opened. It was used to transport materials and timber, and later passengers too. It operated until 1923.
Today the station is an ideal starting point for an active day out. The municipality has about 97 km of cycling trails and 73 km of walking trails. From Nieporęt you can head towards Białobrzegi, Rynia and on along the Zegrze Reservoir, making a loop around the water.
Travelling by train from Warsaw means no traffic jams and no parking problems. It is a perfect option for a day’s cycling, a walk by the water or a family trip into nature.
